During the last several years, Mr. Garcia has been employed by several local districts to implement Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) in the capacity of a Behavioral Intervention Specialist and School Social Worker. He has done so by providing professional development and coaching for Tier I, facilitating groups for Tier II, and providing individual therapy for Tier III.
Mr. Garcia attended CSU Bakersfield where he attained his Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology and Master of Social Work. He also attended CSU Sacramento where he attained his Pupil Personnel Services Credential in Social Work. Mr. Garcia continues to pursue his education as he is now an Associate Clinical Social Worker who is pursuing licensure as he refines his clinical practice. He is also an active member of the California Association of School Social Workers (CASSW) and the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA).
Mr. Garcia is excited about the opportunity to work for the community of Lamont and looks forward to work with every school site while always emphasizing a systematic approach to servicing our students and families.
