School Accountability Report Cards

California School Accountability Report Cards

The School Accountability Report Cards (SARC), established by Proposition 98, serve an important role in providing parents and the community with essential information about each public school. SARCs are a valuable tool for schools to communicate their progress toward achieving academic goals and overall performance.

While the design of SARCs may vary, they typically begin with a school profile that offers background information about the school and its students. This profile often highlights the school's mission, goals, and notable achievements. State law requires that SARCs include the following key information:

  • Demographic data

  • School safety and climate for learning

  • Academic data

  • Class sizes

  • Teacher and staff details

  • Curriculum and instruction descriptions

  • Fiscal and expenditure data
